Education and Spiritual Growth at AUMCChildren's programs are alive and well at AUMC --
Currently 6-8 families with children are participating in one activity
or another. If you are interested in helping with any program, or want
to offer funding or resources, please contact the church office, or the
person in charge of that program. To keep you updated, the education
committee would like to give you a few brief notes: Sunday SchoolAlice Bartlett is in charge assisted by Edith Hokman. Sunday School
is during the service except for the first Sunday of the month
(communion.) If you are interested in taking a Sunday or two (much
appreciated) -- Alice has the sign up sheet. Curriculum provided. All
you need is interest, willingness to give a little time on Sunday
morning, and ability to have a good time with children. ChildcareJenny Lynne is the provider, assisted (on demand) by Tori Manoli.
Backup communication is in effect every Sunday between the nursery and
the Sanctuary through walkie-talkies so parents can relax and enjoy the
service. The Manoli family and Edith Hokman are manning the
walkie-talkies. AcolytesAli Ware is the coordinator. This is open to either adults or
children. Currently acolytes are participating during the first Sunday
of each month, for the communion service in the Sanctuary. We will
rotate acolytes so time demand is very limited. If you are interested,
we will be having training soon, please contact us.
Adults have opportunities to learn at AUMC as well. Several of our
education activities are geared to both children and adults, such as our
acolytes program or Intergenerational Bible Study. Intergenerational Bible StudyOur intergenerational Bible Study meets on Sunday at 6:30 in the Pastor's
Office. The Parables is the current topic of study.
