The United Methodist Church shares a common history and heritage with other Methodist and Wesleyan bodies. The lives and ministries of John Wesley (1703-1791) and Charles Wesley (1707-1791) mark the origins of our common roots. Central to United Methodist Church is the concept that each person must work out their own beliefs based upon scripture, experience, tradition and reason -within the very broad context of Christianity. Consequently, United Methodists are united with a diversity of individually developed theologies.

“Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”
John Wesley
