According to the United Methodist Book of Discipline, United Methodist Women (UMW) share a common purpose “to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.”

Membership is open to any woman interested in attending AUMC and participating in UMW’s mission and ministry. Events are planned throughout the year; the annual teas in May and December are special favorites open to everyone.

UMW participates in local mission work with Eureka Rescue Mission and Humboldt Domestic Violence, and joins with United Methodist Women throughout Northern California in supporting Mary Elizabeth Inn and Gun Moon Mission in San Francisco.
